Have I Been Pwned aggregates email addresses from data breaches and makes them searchable via its online services. If you'd like to delete your data from the service, start with the dedicated opt-out page. This sends an email to the address, which then provides three different ways of opting the address out:
- Just remove my email address from public search
- Remove my email address from public search and delete the list of breaches it appears in
- Delete my email address completely
It's essential that the owner of the address utilises the opt-out feature themself, allowing them to determine how their data will be handled. Permanently deleting the email address via option 3, for example, may not be the best path for you, as a subsequent data breach could cause it to be loaded in again. HIBP's opt-out feature gives you control over how your data is handled.
